Cherry Creek North's Two Saturday Traditions Land on the Same Day This Year. Here's What's Different Since Last Fall.

Walk Fillmore Street on a Saturday morning in September and you'll catch the neighborhood mid-shift. Produce tables are still doing business at one end of the block. A few storefronts down, gallery doors are propped open earlier than usual, staff setting out the small touches that mark a Second Saturday. Two routines, same sidewalk, running on separate clocks most of the year.

This year those clocks line up. October 10 is the final Saturday of the Cherry Creek Fresh Market's May-through-October run, and it also happens to be the neighborhood's monthly Second Saturday Art Walk. That's not a promotional tie-in. It's just how the calendar landed. What makes it worth building a Saturday around is what's opened along that same stretch since last fall, because the version of Cherry Creek North closing out its market season this year is not the one that closed it out twelve months ago.

What Actually Opened Since Last Fall

For years, the neighborhood's fine dining bench sat at five names: Matsuhisa, Quality Italian, North Italia, Elway's, 801 Chophouse. Reliable, if you wanted a table you already knew.

That bench got longer. Broadway 10 Bar & Chophouse opened inside the 300 University development on East 3rd Avenue in November 2025, right as last year's market season was wrapping. In February 2026, Uchiko Denver landed at 299 Fillmore Street, chef Tyson Cole's Austin sushi concept making its Colorado debut a few doors down from where the art walk galleries cluster. In April, Ash & Agave took over the shuttered California Pizza Kitchen space inside the Cherry Creek Shopping Center at 3000 East 1st Avenue, bringing a Mexican Riviera menu and a raw bar from the same group behind Blue Island Oyster Bar and Oliver's Italian in Greenwood Village.

Two more are still finishing. The Henry, Fox Restaurant Concepts' first Colorado location, is under interior buildout at 201 Fillmore, the ground floor of an eight-story mixed-use building going in with a patio planned for the alley. A few blocks over, the 2nd & Adams development is bringing in restaurant concepts from Boka Restaurant Group under chef Brian Lockwood, whose résumé includes a stretch at Eleven Madison Park during its run to three Michelin stars. Neither is open yet, but both sit inside easy walking distance of the same blocks where the market and the art walk both happen.

None of this changes what October 10 costs to attend. Both events are free, as they always are. What's changed is what the evening looks like once the tents come down and the gallery doors close for the day.

The Six-Week Stretch That Used to Feel Quiet

Once the Fresh Market wraps in October, the Cherry Creek Holiday Market doesn't open on Fillmore Plaza until around November 20. That leaves roughly six weeks where the neighborhood's biggest recurring Saturday draw is gone and the holiday one hasn't started. The Second Saturday Art Walk still runs on its usual monthly schedule in between, the way it does every month of the year, but a gallery stroll alone used to be the whole plan for that stretch.

It doesn't have to be anymore. A resident who used to treat that gap as a quiet patch on the calendar now has a full-service dinner reservation within a few blocks of wherever the walk ends. That's a small shift on paper. It's a real one if you've lived here through the years when the market's last Saturday genuinely felt like the last event of the season.

How to Actually Spend October 10

If you're planning around the overlap, the order matters more than the list.

• 9 to 11 a.m. Get to the Fresh Market early. It's the final Saturday of the season, and vendors tend to bring their best remaining stock rather than hold back for a next week that isn't coming.
• 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Work the Second Saturday Art Walk while the market's still going. Saks Galleries has been showing fine art in the district for more than 40 years and tends to do live demonstrations on walk days. Show of Hands mixes gifts with smaller art pieces and usually has something seasonal going on out front. Atelier by Relévant Galleries rotates in newer names alongside its regular roster.
• Evening. This is the part that's actually different. A year ago, "dinner after the walk" mostly meant the same five names it always meant. Now it might mean a table at Uchiko, a Carne Locker plate at Ash & Agave, or a bar seat at Broadway 10 if you'd rather keep it casual.

None of this requires a car. The market, the galleries, and the newer restaurants all sit inside the same walkable core that's made Cherry Creek North function the way it does for years, the same stretch covered in our earlier look at car-light living in the neighborhood.

A neighborhood's calendar tells you something about how settled it is. When the recurring anchors are thin, the gaps between them start to feel like the default state, and the events feel like exceptions. Cherry Creek North spent years with a predictable rhythm: market season, art walk, a short list of restaurants that never really changed. What's happened in the last twelve months is that the restaurant side of that rhythm finally caught up to everything else, and a date like October 10 stops being just the end of something and starts being a full day's plan.
